FRAYED PORTALS

March, 2023. Solo Exhibition, Espace Maurice Bouchor, Paris, France. Organized by Sylvie Meyerdreux-Vanes and financed by la Mairie du 14e.

Within the framework of the Mois de l'égalité femmes-hommes de la Mairie du 14ème, I occupied the Espace Maurice Bouchor for the last two weeks of March 2023.

Vitrines act as portals to a universe that influences us while presenting mirrors in which we can see our reflection. Always inspired by the stories of the women around us, “Frayed Portals” presents textile works that explore the window display as a mystical portal that connects us as women; how these fictional spaces might influence our desires, how they display bodies or advertisements, and how their implication in consumerism affects our relationships with ourselves as women and our loved ones.

Throughout the exhibition, there was a work that invited the public to participate by embroidering their personal experiences.
